How amazing from the question of my family I can trigger a few blog entries.

By the way, this will explain why I so rajin creating and keeping my mom family chart. The big reason is because I need to know my moms family tree. Ok that’s not really I want to tell. Actually its about my mom’s name. I have to keep it for my official record.

My mom’s original name that was given by her biological father was Fatimah bte Salleh. After she was adopted to my Tok Ayah (Sulaiman Salleh), her name was changed to Zainun Sulaiman. Until these days, people will know her by official or not by this name. I know this is something incorrect. Even in Islam, we are not allowed to change adopted kids name.

This happened because Tok Ayah afraid my mom’s biological family will claim her back since her twins was died. Tok Ayah then sworn in front of our former British Ruler to claim that baby was belongs to him and immediately change my mom’s name. Since there on my mom’s has been using this name to be known by everybody.

Upon getting married to my father, it was not known by my father that my mom was an adopted daughter until my mom’s pregnant me in her womb. When my father know about this, he was very angry and upset to his father in law. Knowing that, he immediately search for my mom real father (this is about to find real wali). Oh did I tell you that my mom was never meet her own family until she was 42 years old? And yes she was pregnant me while she at that age.

After like 2 months of looking my mom’s real parents, finally my mom met her own family but its too sad knowing that her real father was passed away long time ago. In other words, she was never met her own real father until recently she hired someone to perform haj and omra on behalf of her father. She claim that her father was came to her (in her dreams) to say thanks to her.

“Ok, how does he look like?”

“I could not see his face exactly but he does look old”

“So how do you know it was your father?”

“My instinct says”

“Oh I see”.

I can see my moms face glows upon telling me this. I think maybe because at last she can do something to appreciate her biological father. Whether its true or not the person in her dreams was her real father was undetermined or whether its reliable– maybe aliya can help us on this.

Ok long enough to tell about my mother story. I still keep her original birth certificate and official letter that turn to her current name for future reference. Oh this entry. I should keep this entry safe for my ref too.
